Nancy O'Dell began her broadcast career as a reporter and anchor for WPDE-TV in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. In the following years, she worked as a the morning news anchor as well as a the crime reporter at WCBD TV. Her articles from Charleston on how Charleston police dealt with DUI cases with care, resulted in an investigation by the State Law Enforcement Division. The inquiry led to a stronger directive for state authorities. Ms. O'Dell received recognition from the Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year Awards to all media South Carolina.
